Examples
Using our own technique, we combine paper puppetry with motion capture. Developed from our former respective careers in model-making and visual effects for TV/film, this is a very flexible and relatively quick process compared to traditional stop-motion animation while keeping the ‘hands-on’ feel.

First, a bit about us...
Tapocketa (pronounced ta-pocket-ah) is a small and versatile multi award-winning animation duo based in the UK.
We are Eleanor Long, a Royal College of Art alumni and Trevor Young, a feature film visual effects lead artist. As well as bringing a wealth of experience to all of our work, we cultivate a friendly, inventive, adaptable approach and dedication to all we do.

Finally, about our in-house projects…
We also create our own products - in the Tapocketa style - which push current technologies and our creativity in new directions. Our first in-house project is an interactive, animated storybook for children called Galdo’s Gift: The Enchanted Storybook. Our motto, whilst making, was ‘no child left behind’. We are currently revisiting this award-winning offering to be able to extend its scope to wider audiences.
Another in-house project is called The Locksmith which was awarded Creative UK’s New Ideas Fund (supported by The National Lottery and the British Film Institute (BFI)). It’s a project which delves into a dark interactive, immersive mystery story for adults. It’s a book of puzzles like no other like no other!
